Freeware PGP version 7

This configuration is now quite obsolete since it's hard to find the Freeware version of PGP 7, it doesn't work with Windows XP and it's not possible to create host to network tunnels. I've still included it here for reference where creating tunnels for other systems.

The Freeware version of PGP 7.0.3 can be downloaded from here.

Install PGP somewhere and reboot your machine.

The corresponding OpenBSD isakmpd.conf can be found here.

The big difference is that in this configuration screen we don't have a choice for Secure Gateway as we have in the Commercial version of PGP. We can still use Secure Host but we cannot use the Freeware version to connect to an Internal Network.

I always use the export mode when doing configuration. First, configure your gateway as this.

PGPNet Configuration

Enter the same Shared Passphrase as in your isakmpd.conf. In this example: 'mekmitasdigoat'.

Enter Passphrase

Now your setting should look something like this.

We are up and running

We drop a few packets before the handshake is done and we are now up and running. If we look at the routing entry in the gateway it looks like this.

Display the routing table
