Safenet SoftRemote

The Safenet SoftRemote client has the abilty to bind tunnel-definitions to specific interfaces in Win2k which PGPnet can't. It is also somewhat more intuitive to configure for people who understand IPsec with the proposals and everything since they don't try to hide it from the users.

Here is an isakmpd.conf that works with the setup below and I also saved the resulting policy from the configuration below.

Install SoftRemote somewhere and reboot your machine.

The Startup screen will probably look something like this.

Now it's time to add the tunnel.

Add some initial parameters. The Destination Network and the address to the OpenBSD gateway.

If you want to bind the tunnel to a specific interface, this is the screen where to do it. Otherwise, just enter your Pre-Shared Key (mekmitasdigoat in my example).

Now it's time to update some parameters for the tunnel. The first screen we can leave as it is.

SoftRemote defaults to DES for some reason so we need to change that for Phase 1 and Phase 2.
